Polar bears

Polar bears live in very cold places.

Polar bears keep warm because of their fur. Their fur keeps them really warm because it is very long and furry.

The polar bear is often regarded as a marine mammal because it spends many months of the year at sea.

Polar bears eat seals, fish and other small creatures.

They kill for food well. They swim well.

Since Polar Bears find themselves at the very top of the food chain out there, they don’t.
While Polar Bears aren’t territorial when it comes to where they reside, they are extremely aggressive when it come to mating.
They have many natural predators at all.

Population and distribution

The polar bear is found in the Arctic Circle and adjacent land masses as far south as Newfoundland Island. Due to the absence of human development in its remote habitat, it retains more of its original range than any other extant carnivore

The polar bear is the largest terrestrial carnivore, being more than twice as big as the Siberian tiger. It shares this title with the Kodiak Bear.Adult males weigh 350–680 kg (770–1500 lbs) and measure 2.4–3 m (7.9–9.8 ft) in length.

Life expectancy

Polar bears rarely live beyond 25 years.[82] The oldest wild bears on record died at the age of 32, whereas the oldest captive was a female who died in 1991 at the age of 43.[83] The oldest living polar bear was Debby of the Assiniboine Park Zoo, who was probably born in December 1966[83] and died on November 17, 2008. The causes of death in wild adult polar bears are poorly understood.
